Feeling Blue

February 2, 2017

January was a gray and dreary month.  Add to that, the political landscape….  Let’s just say, I’ve been feeling a little blue lately!

Thom Felicia and Jonathan Adler fabrics

I am working on a project now where I need to find 4-5 blue fabrics to complete a room.  I love these two blue dots together.

Duralee pink and John Robshaw blue

I took myself to the Decorator & Design Building on Monday to cheer myself up and look for all things BLUE.  Even managed to grab one with pink!

There were so many beautiful choices.  Starbucks in hand, I traveled from floor to floor looking at fabrics.  Chevron is always in style.

This floral looks really cute paired with the Kate Spade dots.

It’s going to be hard to finalize my fabric decisions!

Thibaut "south sea" and Duralee circles

So many fun patterns.  “South Sea” is a big, bold pattern that would look amazing on a couch in a beach house.

Spending the morning in New York looking at gorgeous fabrics definitely cheered me up.  A quick lunch stop to the restaurant “Upper Story” inside the D&D capped off my excursion.

I’ll let you know the fabrics I chose in an upcoming blog post.  If you like any of these fabrics, I am happy to help you get them.

Cheers to February!

THE NEW SURF

I have loved design ever since I painted my bedroom walls high-gloss lime green in the fourth grade. A lifelong hobby, mixing low cost items with a few pricier pieces thrown in, has become The Wry Home. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t!
