Bermuda Bound

by Liz Dowling

May, Mother’s Day AND celebrating a birthday in Bermuda. Woo Hoo!

The water…..

Our Bermuda trip was originally scheduled for May 2020. Then rescheduled a few other times, but never quite happened.

This year, Sarah and I had a total of two phone calls and it was BOOKED.

Timing was great because we could celebrate a special birthday, Mother’s Day and the fact that we finally made it!

We stayed at the Mid Ocean Club in Tucker’s Town. A stunning club with 20 rooms, golf, tennis and a beautiful empty pink beach.

We parked ourselves at the beach and the “Beach Pavillion” restaurant and basically never left. The weather was gorgeous, the water was warm and we were ready to have fun!

Lots of playing hearts, morning walks, beach lunches, reading and napping.

Dressing up was saved for dinner!

This is the view from our room. Dark and Stormy anyone?

There are some very cool rock formations on the beach that block the wind, so we tucked ourselves away in there. We all went in the water (which never happens on Block Island!) and had lunch delivered to our beach chairs. How perfect is that??????? The food here is phenomenal. If you visit, make sure to have the curry dressing on your salad or, frankly, pour it on everything! I would have taken a bath in it.

Thanks to our FABULOUS hosts for having us to Mid Ocean. It was the perfect getaway in the perfect place! Mr. D has given it the stamp of approval (if you know, you know…..)
