New Light Fixture
Needs Assembly…

by Liz Dowling

All of the light fixtures that came with my new apartment are… how do I say this? UGLY!

I have six of these flush ceiling mounts in the apartment – no dimmers anywhere to be found. I am obsessed with dimmers. I installed them on every single light fixture in our Rye house. Zaccagnino Electric loved me!

My to-do list is still pretty long, but this ceiling fixture smacking me in the face immediately when I walk into the apartment was NOT HAPPENING.

I had to pick something fast, so I went online and picked this Starburst Chandelier from Amazon.

I took the design cue from my living room coffee table (on left). It should help tie the living room space together with the dining room area as it is all one big room. Plus, I need the 12 bulbs it comes with because this space can be dark.

One thing the Amazon ‘product specifications’ did not inform me of was, all 200 metal spikes on the light had to be screwed in by hand…. this little fact was buried in the copy somewhere. Side benefit ~ arthritis.

My new electrician does not know how lucky he is! “Dimmer” will be my word of 2020.

It is up and it WORKS!

Dining Room view. The light is in a weird spot, just left of the dining room space and not directly over the table. I’m ignoring it.

View towards living room. The light adds ambiance and is a nice focal point for both rooms.

Obsessed with dimmers AND dachshunds!

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

See you in 2020
